KUMANO, JAPAN — Malaysia’s Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) produced notable results at the 2026 Tour de Kumano, underlining their status as one of Asia’s leading continental squads.
On Stage 3, Fergus Browning secured third place after a determined ride on the Taiji Circuit Course, giving TSG a valuable podium finish. Earlier, James Gardner delivered victory in the Wakayama Castle Criterium, a pre‑race event that set the tone for the team’s campaign in Japan.

The team’s roster combined international riders with local talent, including Browning, Gardner, Zeb Kyffin, Mohd Zariff, Rosli Muhammad Nur Aiman, and Mohd Saipul Anuwai. Their collective effort kept TSG competitive across the stages and added crucial points to their UCI Asia Tour tally.
TSG currently holds 519 points in the 2026 season, placing them among the top 35 continental teams worldwide. Team officials highlighted that the Tour de Kumano results are part of a broader push to reclaim the Asian champion title, which the squad previously held from 2021 to 2024.
The Kumano race, staged over four days in Wakayama Prefecture, is known for its challenging terrain and tactical demands. TSG’s podium finishes demonstrate their ability to adapt and compete against Asia’s strongest outfits.
With upcoming races including the Baku–Khankendi Race in Azerbaijan and the Tour of Japan, TSG is determined to carry this momentum forward in their pursuit of continental dominance.
