PORT LOUIS, Mauritius – Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) delivered another commendable performance on the international stage after Juan Pedro Lozano secured a top-five overall finish at the 2026 Tour de Maurice, helping the Malaysian continental outfit collect valuable UCI ranking points against a competitive international field in Mauritius.
The four-stage UCI 2.2 race covered a total distance of 507.5 kilometres from June 2-5 and featured riders from Europe, Africa and Asia. The decisive queen stage from Cascavelle to Bois Chéri proved to be the toughest challenge of the race, with demanding climbs ultimately determining the overall general classification.
TSG enjoyed a strong start through Lozano, who finished third in Stage One with a time of 3:38:24 before claiming another podium in Stage Two, crossing the line second on the same time as stage winner Tiano Da Silva. Kazakhstan’s Vadim Pronskiy also produced a consistent display throughout the opening stages to keep TSG firmly in contention in the general classification.

Despite the challenging mountain stage, Lozano limited his losses against the race favourites to remain among the overall frontrunners before finishing second once again in the final stage in Moka with a time of 2:43:40. He concluded the race fifth overall with a cumulative time of 12:10:43, just 47 seconds behind overall champion Anatolii Budiak, while Pronskiy secured 12th place in the general classification.
The encouraging result underlined TSG’s competitiveness against experienced continental teams and marked another positive step in the team’s 2026 international campaign as it continues its pursuit of UCI points and its ambition of strengthening its standing among Asia’s leading continental cycling teams.
