Born on 18 January 2003 in Dungun, Terengganu, Zhe Yie Kee is rapidly becoming a household name in Malaysian cycling. Representing Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), he’s known for his precision in time trials and his tenacity in road races—qualities that have earned him national titles and international recognition.
In 2025, Kee delivered a commanding performance at the National Championships Malaysia MU Road Race, held on 31 May in Pagoh, Johor. He conquered the 160.2 km course in 3 hours, 58 minutes, and 9 seconds, securing the gold medal and finishing ahead of Nasrul Firas Ridzuan and Muhamad Iqbal Daniel Mohd Nawawi.
Just a day earlier, on 30 May, he also claimed victory in the MU Individual Time Trial (ITT) over a 40.6 km route, clocking 50 minutes and 55 seconds with an average speed of 47.843 km/h, again in Pagoh.
Kee’s momentum extended to the Asian Continental Championships 2025, where he placed 4th in the MU Road Race and 9th in the MU ITT, proving his mettle against Asia’s best. arlier in March, he was awarded Best Asian Rider during Stage 3 of the Tour de Taiwan, a prestigious UCI 2.1 race that spans five stages across Taiwan.
His versatility was further demonstrated with a 12th-place finish in the Mountains Classification at the Tour of Sharjah 2025, held in the UAE.
In 2024, Kee earned silver in the MU Road Race at the National Championships and placed 8th in the same category at the Asian Continental Championships.
He also finished 11th in a stage of the Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen, Indonesia’s iconic mountain race.
Kee’s European debut came in 2023 at the Tour of Antalya in Turkiye, where he joined a seasoned TSG lineup including Nor Aiman Zariff and Anatolii Budyak. That same year, he placed 3rd in the KOM classification at the Tour of Yiğido in Türkiye. and earned bronze in the MU ITT at the Malaysian Nationals.
With each season, Zhe Yie Kee continues to sharpen his race craft, blending youthful energy with strategic depth. His journey reflects not just personal ambition, but the rising tide of Malaysian cycling on the global stage.
